The next day Nick goes to Melody’s house and her mother answers the door.
Nick: Hi. Is Melody here?
Melody’s mom: No. She’s out with Jake.
Nick: When she gets back can you ask her to call me?
Melody’s mom: Sure. Bye.
Nick: Bye.
Nick goes home and is greeted by Joe.
Joe: Hey.
Nick: Hi.
Joe: What’s wrong?
Nick: Yesterday I saw Jake at the park with another girl?
Joe: Melody?
Nick: No, not Melody. A different girl. And she kissed him.
Joe: You’re joking, right?
Nick: No. And they’re planning to hurt Melody at one of the concerts.
Joe: Have you told Melody?
Nick: No. I stopped by her house, but she wasn’t there.
Kevin comes in and joins the conversation.
Kevin: Whacha talking about?
Joe tells Kevin what Nick has already told him.
Kevin: Do you know when they are planning to hurt her?
Nick: He said when they get really close.
Joe: Let’s go find her.
Nick: No, her mom said that she was with Jake.
Joe: Well you need to tell her as soon as you find her alone.
Nick: I’m going to.
Nick gets up and leaves. Nick goes to the park and sits down on a bench. His cell phone rings.
Nick: Hello.
Melody (over phone): Nick, it’s me. My mom said you wanted me to call you.
Nick: Yeah. Can you come over to the park? I’d like to talk to you.
Melody: Okay. I’ll get there as soon as I can.
A few minutes later, Melody shows up at the park and sits down next to Nick on a bench.
Melody: You wanted to talk to me?
Nick : Yeah. Yesterday I saw Jake with a girl.
Melody: Probably just a fan.
Nick : More than a fan. He kissed her. Jake is planning to sing a song to you, kiss you, and push you off the stage.
Melody: Nick, I’d never thought you could be so jealous of me and Jake. Lying to break us up, I can’t believe you.
Melody gets up and walks away.
Nick : Melody. I’m telling you the truth.
