It’s a month later and Melody decides that she is ready to have a boyfriend again. Melody calls Jake and Nick.
Melody: Jake?
Jake (over the phone): Yeah.
Melody: I think I am ready for another boyfriend. Meet me in the park in ten minutes and I’ll decide between you and Nick.
Jake: Okay. I’ll meet you there.
Melody hangs up the phone and calls Nick.
Melody: Nick?
Nick (over the phone): Hi Melody. What do you want?
Melody: I think I am ready for another boyfriend. Meet me in the park in ten minutes and I’ll decide between you and Jake.
Nick: What do you mean me and Jake?
Melody: He asked me out after you broke up with me.
Nick: Oh, okay. I’ll see you there.
Melody hangs up the phone and walks out side and has her brother drive her to the park. On the way, their car was struck by a drunk driver. Melody’s brother was fine, but Melody wasn’t. Melody was rushed to the hospital.
Meanwhile at the park:
Jake: Hi, Nick. Where’s Melody?
Nick: I don’t know. She said she’d be here.
Jake: I’ll call her cell.
Jake takes out his phone and calls Melody.
Jake: No answer.
Nick: I’ll call her brother.
Nick gets his phone out and calls Melody’s brother, Matt.
Nick : Hi Matt. Do you know where Melody is?
Matt (over the phone): Yeah. She’s in the hospital.
Nick: What?
Matt: We were hit by a drunk driver.
Nick: Oh my gosh. I’ll be there right away.
Nick hangs up the phone.
Jake: So where is she?
Nick: In the hospital.
Jake: What?
Nick: I’ll explain on the way. Come on let’s go.
Later at the hospital, Melody was lying in bed and woke up to see Nick and Jake by her side.
Melody: Nick? Jake?
Jake: We’re here Melody.
Nick: Every thing will be okay.
Jake: Melody, I love you so much.
At this point, Nick is in tears.
Nick: I love you, too.
Melody: I know you both love me. But I am going to choose…
