If the heart is always searching...

Can you ever find a home?

Chapter Eight

Jake, Melody, Lydeea, and Harmony are at an ice cream shop enjoying ice cream. A little romance is stirring up between Jake and Melody.

Jake:  So, what have you been up to?

Melody:  Not much, you?

Jake: Not much.

Melody giggles.

Harmony:  Well, Lydeea and I have to go now.

Lydeea:  Yeah.  Have fun you two!

Jake:  What was that all about?

Melody (giggling): I don’t know.

Jake:  Oohh!  You got your flirty face on.

Melody:  What?  I do not!

Jake:  Admit it.  You like me.

Melody:  Maybe a little now.  But I still don’t think I am ready for another boyfriend yet.

Jake: Okay.  Fine with me.

The Jonas Brothers were at their house, so Lydeea and Harmony dropped by.  When Nick saw who was at the door, he rushed to answer.

Nick:  Is Melody with you?

Harmony:  No, she isn’t.

Lydeea:  She’s with Jake.

Nick:  Her ex?

Harmony:  Maybe not for long.

Nick:  What?  Where is she?

Lydeea:  At the ice cream shop.

Nick:  Joe, Kevin, come on let’s go.

Joe:  Go where?

Nick:  To get ice cream.

Kevin:  Why?

Nick:  Tell you later.

The Jonas Brothers hop into Kevin’s car and Lydeea and Harmony decide to go with them.

Jake and Melody were having a romantic conversation when Nick and the others came in.

Nick:  Melody!

Melody:  Nick?  What are you doing here?

Nick:  I came to apologize to you.  Will you be my girl again?

Melody:  Look, Nick…

Jake:  She won’t even go out with me.

Melody:  Jake, I’ll handle this.  Look Nick,  Jake broke my heart and so did you.  I don’t think I am ready for another boyfriend yet.

Nick:  Melody, please?

Melody:  No Nick.  I’m not ready.  Jake I think I better leave.

Melody gets up and leaves.  Harmony and Lydeea follow after her.  Nick leaves and talk to his brothers.

Nick:  I can’t believe it.  I blew it.  I had the best girlfriend ever, and I broke up with her.  Just because I was a little jealous!

Joe:  It wasn’t your fault.

Nick:  How?

Joe:  I don’t know.

Kevin:  It will be all right.  Just give her some time.

Jake was by himself in the ice cream shop.

Jake ( to himself):  Great.  The only girl I ever liked and she’s not ready to date again and her other ex boyfriend is trying to win her back.  What am I going to do?  I should have never broken up with her.  Nothing is working for me.

Jake’s cell phone rings and he answers it.

Jake:  Hello.  Oh my gosh, you will?...  Oh…  Okay, I’ll do it.  Bye.
